The many casts of Chris...

This is when he did a Superman off the stairs and broke his foot. At the ER I asked if he fell and he said, "No, I jumped." I asked if that was the story and he said, "It's not a story, Mom, it's the truth." It was pretty funny after all of the crying. He was convinced he was fine and didn't need a cast but the x-ray told a different story. We knew that this wouldn't be our last time at the ER for a broken bone and it wasn't.

Above is cast #1 from the broken arm he got right after he'd learned how to ride his bike. He was cruising down the hill we live on and didn't really know how to stop. Well, he stopped and and ended up breaking his arm. Below is the the second cast he got. We got to know the people in x-ray really well. The ER staff recognizes Chris too. Not that that is anything to brag about. :)

After his experiences with breaking bones you'd think he would avoid breaking any more but he did say, "Next time I want to break my head!" I hope that doesn't ever happen!! I'm sure we'll have plenty more pics of him in casts. It's been almost 2 years since the last broken bone so I'm just waiting for the next one.

Could they be brothers?

The top picture is of Ben's Grandpa and the bottom is, of course, Ben. Pretty cool, huh?

Sadie

It's time to show off my cute doggie, Sadie. We got her 12 years ago when someone dropped her off out in the middle of nowhere. My sister worked out in the area and called and told me the dog I ordered came. I didn't want a dog at the time but when Eric heard about her he went right out to rescue her. I'm so glad he did. She's the best dog ever. If only she could live forever. I don't have many recent photos of her because, for some reason, she hates the camera. The minute she sees the camera she takes off. She even knows when I have the camera on my phone on. hmmm.. clever girl

Chris and Sadie

This was when our house in West Jordan was torn apart and we were redoing the whole place. I guess she didn't hate the camera back then. Maybe she's self conscious about how she looks now that she's getting older. I think she's as beautiful as she always been.

Sadie and Ben

This picture is in our back yard in West Jordan. Sadie used to love to run and run and run back there. It was always fun when we'd get a lot of snow. She loved the snow. I don't think she's as fond of the rain up here.

Alien Dog

It looks like I dragged the kids out of bed for this picture with the alien dog. hehehe! Maybe they're just tired because they had been playing with the ratties.

Chris and Sadie

This is the most recent picture I have of Sadie. She sure doesn't look happy. Probably because she wasn't. Could it be that she thinks the camera will take her soul? It's worth it to me to torture her a little so I can have pictures of her.

Happy New Year!

I was cleaning off my memory stick and found some pics from New Year's. I'm really going to miss this place (I know I say that a lot, but it's true). We got a hotel near the Space Needle and walked over to watch the fireworks. It's much more fun than sitting at home watching some ball drop. Enjoy the pics...

I had to take this picture of Christopher because he thought our view from the hotel was just fine. He didn't want to walk over to the Space Needle. But after we saw the fireworks he was happy we went.

This was the view from our hotel. We probably could have stayed in the room but I don't think it would have been as good. Because this is what we saw...

Pretty cool, huh? We went last year for the first time and, sadly, this year will be our last.

The boy rats

Okay, I was feeling like a guilty rat mom so I decided to take some pictures of the boy ratties. I gave them each a bath and then let them run around on my bed. So, if their fur looks a little funny it's probably because they were still a little wet. Bathing rats is not the most fun thing in the world. But they do look nice afterward.

Raisin

He's the naughty one of the two.

Muffin

He's such a love.

My Ratties

Snicker
(Also known as snake bait - she's our last living girl rattie)
I also have 2 boy ratties named Raisin and Muffin. I don't have any pics of them yet.

My ratties that have passed on....

Cinnamon and Spice
(Cinnamon the sweetie and Spice the little old man)

Cinnamon
(what a sweet boy - I love this picture of him)

Pepper
(my naughty girlie that was very adventuresome)

Gracie
(what a sweet little rattie)

Ralphie and Chloe
(Ralphie was a busy little girlie and Chloe was very loving)

I had other ratties that I don't have pictures of but I loved them just the same. Their names are Dorothy, Peaches, and Oreo.

This is too fun!

I love that I can post pictures on here! I know some of these aren't recent shots, but, dang it, they're cute!

Here are some pictures from a field trip Ben's class took last year. The classes chartered a boat and went out for the day on Puget Sound and got to learn all about the ocean and sea life. We saw a pod of porpoises too. It was awesome!! Each of the kids got a chance to drive the boat. This is when Ben had his chance. The Captain was so great with all of them. Doesn't he look a little Donald Sutherlandish? I think that was Ben's best field trip ever! I know it was my favorite!

This picture is from our trip to Rhode Island last year. Traveling to the other end of the country takes a looooong time. The kids were troopers and we had a great time. I love this picture with Chris. We were at Conimicut Point Park and it was kind of cold but the kids had fun collecting sea shells and playing in the sand. I think they're favorite part of the trip back there was that we went to Massachusetts just to go to the mall and we got to go to Connecticut to the Mystic Aquarium. It really is amazing how small the states are back there.

I absolutely love these pics of the boys. This was at the Zoo Boo in 2004. The boys each made a popcorn hand and then posed for me. I was laughing really hard!!

Until next time....
